It causes Israel society to resent Western countries that bomb the crap out of Afghanistan for two decades, but ask Israel to exercise restraint the day a war begins. It leaves the US vulnerable to attacks at the hands of those Israel is trying to stop. Why? All to try and gain recognition for solving problems of the Middle East they’ll likely not even coming close to solve.
